Memorial Park

You’ll find Memorial Park along Peachtree Creek on about 200 acres of what was once a Civil War battlefield. Today the Memorial Park area is a community focused on relaxation and getting away from the busy city life. Though only minutes from Downtown Atlanta, the tree lined streets and rolling hills of Memorial Park help one to escape from the city.

HISTORY

In 1929, Memorial Park was gifted to Atlanta by former Senator Hoke Smith, J.W. Bedell and the Howell family, development began four years later.  Many of the original trees, planted as a memorial forest, still shade the streets and add to the picturesque setting throughout the neighborhood.
